Le Marche – A Hidden Treasure

Enigmatic Italy

The beautiful and dramatic Le Marche. A wealth of history, Falarone and Urbisaglia with their Roman archaeology, stunning hill towns, coastal resorts and superb mountain scenery interspersed with Castles, Villas and Mountains

The still undiscovered heart of Italy offers a unique blend art, wines and scenery. What it lacks in major tourist centres compared to its better known “neighbours”, Tuscany and Umbria, is fully compensated for by its hidden treasures.

Tours can be designed to allow relaxation and appreciation of the local rural attractions plus day trips to any or all of the places below:

Cities

Ascoli Piceno Capital of Southern Le Marche, so much to see in this city including an opportunity to relax in Bar Melletti (one of the most famous in Italy) while watching the world go by in the Piazza

Urbino – birthplace of the artist Raphael and a great Renaissance city

Beaches

Conero – densely wooded area south of Ancona, dramatic views of the Adriatic with rugged coastline and beaches

San Benedetto Del Tronto – with its stunning beaches, 6 km lined with over 5000 palm trees and great fish restaurants

Hill towns

So many to choose from but an example is Monte San Martino (once visited by Prince Charles) that has fine examples of work by the artist Crivelli, as does Falerone and Sarnano. Each hill town has its own artistic gems.
